Epic and Fortnite is now the single biggest corporate donor to Ukraine

Epic Games and Microsoft have, through Fortnite in-game purchases, raised over $70 million to be donated towards humanitarian relief in the ongoing Russo- Ukraine war. And it's still got a week to go. Epic has pledged that, from March 20 until April 3, all proceeds from real-money purchases in Fortnite would be donated to four humanitarian organisations currently operating in Ukraine: Direct Relief, UNICEF, the UN World Food Programme and the UN Refugee Agency. The company says "more organizations will be added to this list in the coming weeks." Xbox agreed to partner-up with Epic on this, and has committed its net proceeds from Fortnite during this period. Amazon Games says it 'made a mistake' with Lost Ark's March update

Fewer players than expected were ready for the new endgame activity, and some thought it made Lost Ark feel pay-to-win. Not everyone was pleased that the first big update for Lost Ark included as one of its main draws an activity only available to players who had reached the summit of its endgame crawl—a boss fight called an Abyss Raid designed for groups of eight players, against a guardian named Argos. To reach it, you need to be in tier 3 and have an item level of 1,370. Increasing your item level in Lost Ark is done by honing gear, which requires luck as well as regular injections of crafting material. Each step has a slightly higher chance of failing, requiring another dose of crafting material before you can try again. It's a slog. Games Workshop suspends all Warhammer sales in Russia

"Our heartfelt thoughts go out to all those affected by Russia’s actions." Games Workshop, the UK-based company behind the Warhammer products, has announced it is to suspend all sales of its products in Russia, as a consequence of the country's invasion of Ukraine. A short statement posted on the company website reads: "We are terribly saddened by the horrific events taking place in Ukraine. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to all those affected by Russia’s actions. In light of this, Games Workshop is suspending all sales of Warhammer products into Russia. "We didn’t take this decision lightly. We know that there are many Russian hobbyists who don’t condone the war. Yet, we must stand with those suffering." Many gaming and technology companies have ceased operations in Russia following a call from Ukraine's deputy prime minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, to do so.
